Plymouth

Plymouth Gin is unique because it was once a 'protected geographical indication' (PGI), meaning it could only be produced within the city walls of Plymouth, England. Distilled at the historic Black Friars Distillery since 1793, its uniqueness lies in its recipe, which uses a higher proportion of root botanicals to achieve a 'softer' and more earthy profile than London Dry gins. This makes it exceptionally smooth and slightly sweeter, with a long, citrusy finish. It is famously cited in the 'Savoy Cocktail Book' as the required gin for a proper Dry Martini, cementing its status as a legend of the bar.
