Oban
Oban is one of the oldest and smallest distilleries in Scotland, located exactly where the Highlands meet the Islands. Its uniqueness is defined by its 'West Highland' style, which offers a perfect middle ground between the smoky intensity of Islay and the floral sweetness of the mainland. Using small, lantern-shaped stills and traditional worm tubs, the spirit develops a signature 'salty-sweet' profile with notes of orange peel, sea salt, and a very light touch of peat smoke. Because the distillery is physically hemmed in by the town of Oban, its production is limited, making its single malt a highly sought-after and respected classic.
