Hakushu
Known as the 'Mountain Forest' distillery, Hakushu is located deep in the Japanese Alps. Its uniqueness comes from its high-altitude location and its water source, which is filtered through ancient granite rocks to create a 'soft' and crisp mineral quality. Unlike the fruitier Yamazaki, Hakushu is celebrated for its herbal, 'green' profile, featuring notes of pine, mint, and a very delicate touch of smoke. The distillery uses a variety of still shapes and sizes to produce a wide range of spirit styles, which are then expertly blended to capture the essence of the surrounding forest.
