Craigellachie
Craigellachie is a Speyside distillery that prides itself on being 'The Bad Boy of Speyside.' Its uniqueness lies in its stubborn adherence to old-fashioned production methods, most notably the use of traditional 'worm tubs' to cool the spirit. Because worm tubs provide less copper contact than modern condensers, the resulting whisky has a distinctively 'sulfuric' and meaty character that adds immense weight and muscle to the spirit. It is a bold, challenging, and waxy single malt that stands in stark contrast to the typically light and fruity Speyside style.
