Bunnahabhain
Established in 1881, Bunnahabhain is unique among Islay distilleries because its standard expressions are traditionally unpeated. While most Islay whiskies are famous for heavy smoke, Bunnahabhain is known for its 'fruit and nut' character and coastal influence. Its uniqueness is also tied to its water source, the Margadale Spring, which is piped directly to the distillery to avoid picking up peat from the land. The resulting single malt is rich, oily, and complex, often matured heavily in Sherry casks for a deep, sweet profile.
